Airbnb has launched a limited pilot of guest registration for certain accommodations in Spain and Italy. For stays starting from September 2026, some guests can provide the necessary registration data directly on the platform.
The guest enters the data on Airbnb, and the participating host can review it before submission through the integration with Chekin.
The host still has to confirm the guest's data at check-in. The pilot does not completely replace the identification and registration obligations.
Airbnb limits the pilot to eligible hosts and listings. The test is scheduled between September and December 2026.
